I made this  menorah out of brass and concrete. I thought pigeons on a wire made of concrete worked well for a Hanukkah celebrated in NYC.

The structure was made of cut brass that I drilled to fit together.

I sculpted a few clay birds in different positions and then created a mold out of those. I poured concrete into those molds to replicate the birds. They clay looked more similar to the concrete than I would have expected.

I painted their beaks to match the brass  and my menorah was complete. It turned out to be sturdy and easy to clean since all of the pieces come off. I've used it for two years so far and when it's not Hanukkah its just a cute sculpture on my shelf.
